for the 2026 REST Retreat
Welcome to R.E.S.T: A Community Leadership Retreat, a space for nonprofit and small business leaders to connect, share experiences, and build a stronger, more resilient local community. This event brings together approximately 60 leaders with the shared goal of learning from each other, growing their organizations, and positively impacting the community.
The REST Framework
The R.E.S.T. framework—Renew, Elevate, Sustain, and Transform—is designed to empower leaders to reflect, connect, and take meaningful steps toward personal and organizational growth, while aligning with the mission of Pass by Ira to eradicate homelessness through education, advocacy, and outreach.
Renew:
Defined as “to restore energy or vitality.” This retreat provides a much-needed opportunity for leaders to step away from their daily routines, reflect on their leadership journey, and recharge. Through intentional rest and reflection, leaders will return to their work renewed and ready to take on the challenges facing their organizations and the community.
Elevate:
To “raise to a higher position.” Elevating your leadership is a central purpose of this retreat. By learning from peers and experts, sharing best practices, and networking, attendees will gain new insights to elevate not only their own leadership but also their organization's impact on the community.
Sustain:
To “maintain or support over time.” Leadership requires long-term resilience. The relationships and networks built during this retreat will serve as ongoing support systems, allowing leaders to sustain their growth and the positive momentum of their organizations. Through collaboration, leaders will find strategies to continuously support their missions and sustain their impact on the community.
Transform:
To “make a marked change.” The ultimate goal of this retreat is to transform how leaders approach their work. By embracing the shared knowledge and experiences of others, leaders will return to their communities empowered to drive transformation—both in their organizations and in the lives of those they serve. In alignment with the mission of Pass by Ira, this transformation will help contribute to the fight to end homelessness through more effective advocacy, education, and outreach.
